How to Maintain Your Car’s Paint Protection Film for Long-Lasting Results

Paint Protection Film (PPF) is an excellent investment for preserving your car’s finish, but proper care is essential to maximize its durability and effectiveness. Follow these maintenance tips to keep your PPF in top condition:

1. Allow the Film to Settle

  • Initial Care: After installation, avoid washing your car for at least 7 days to allow the adhesive to cure completely.
  • Inspect the Edges: Ensure the edges of the film stay intact and avoid peeling them.

2. Wash Your Car Regularly

  • Gentle Washing: Use a pH-balanced, non-abrasive car shampoo and a microfiber wash mitt.
  • Avoid High-Pressure Washes: If using a pressure washer, keep it at least 12 inches away from the surface and avoid spraying directly at the edges of the film.

3. Dry Carefully

Use a clean, soft microfiber towel to dry the surface after washing.

  • Avoid air dryers or chamois that might leave streaks or damage the film.

4. Protect Against Contaminants

  • Remove Stains Promptly: Bird droppings, tree sap, or bug splatter should be cleaned immediately to prevent staining.
  • Use a dedicated PPF-safe cleaner for stubborn spots.
